4 TOP Hotels in Los Angeles, Santa Monica & Malibu

As a hotel expert and LA local, I went to Malibu, Santa Monica, and Beverly Hills looking for the best, luxury hotels for this travel guide. I used my GoPro to highlight each property, so you can see each for yourself. With all four properties being different, but in my opinion, they are all top properties, with luxurious rooms, great service, However, I have went to each of these properties to profile what makes each of them stand out from the rest.
Santa Monica:
Shutters on the Beach: This hotel is my top choice for beach access–you cannot be closer. The rooms have a nautical, chic decor, much like your own personal beach house. The pool, though not large, has a fun vibe with ocean views. The dining here is superb, and as a local, I often come to Coast for brunch or happy hour, or splurge at the upstairs, One Pico.

Malibu Beach Inn: If you were any closer, you’d be in the ocean at this incredible property on Carbon Beach. Each room is tastefully styled in natural elements, leaving the large balcony with oceanfront views as the focal point. Breakfast, lunch, dinner or cocktails are all beautifully prepared at the Carbon Beach Club, and come with a free side of unbeatable pacific views.

Casa del Mar: I did not stay here, but I did walk through the property and see the rooms. This feels more like your Santa Monica apartment, it is cozy with a New England vibe, and yes, beachfront access. A lively bar and restaurant area look out on the beach and ocean.

Mr. C Beverly Hills: This is the only property not near the water, but don’t worry, it has sweeping views of LA and the Hollywood sign, a great pool area and an elegant, Italian vibe. The rooms are plush, with tufted headboards and balconies. And as expected, the food is fantastico!
